Anastasios (Tasos) Tsaousis is a Reader in Molecular and Evolutionary Parasitology at the University of Kent.  His current research is focused on the investigations of the function of mitochondria in microbial organisms, and their course in eukaryotic evolution. To accomplish this, his laboratory is combining detailed bioinformatics analyses of newly generated genomic/transcriptomic/metabolomic results with cell biological and biochemical methods to investigate the organelles of parasitic and free-living microbial eukaryotes living in diverse and extreme environments.
